Iris ‘Andromède’ (IB)
Description:
An intermediate bearded iris with striking blue-violet bi-tone petals and golden beards. It was introduced in 1926 by Vilmorin, Vilmorin-Andrieux et Cie, one of the world’s foremost seed companies, established in 1774. The Vilmorin family, celebrated horticulturists and hybridisers, contributed significantly to iris cultivation. In the early 20th century, Jacques Lévêque de Vilmorin led the company, advancing plant breeding and promoting international floral exhibitions.
