Description:
Native to China, where it occurs in mountainous regions. It grows in woodland and forest habitats, typically at higher elevations, in cool, moist conditions. It is a deciduous shrub with an upright, branching habit. The species produces clusters of small white flowers, followed by fleshy fruits that develop as they mature. Its attractive foliage, flowers and fruit make it of interest for botanical collections and conservation.
