Impatiens kilimanjari subsp. kilimanjari
Description:
Distinctive high-altitude balsam native to Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. A straggling, glabrous perennial reaching around 30–40 cm, it grows in the cool, humid conditions of upland rainforest between 1,850 and 3,600 m, occasionally occurring as an epiphyte on moss-covered tree trunks. First described in 1885, it remains a particularly unusual plant in cultivation.
