Iris ‘Golden Flare’ (TB)


Description:

Bred by Violet Insole (1883-1932) of Insole Court, Llandaff, South Wales circa 1930 when it was described as one of the 'best of the new irises', bright apricot in colour, tinged with purple and of remarkably bright appearance further enhanced by golden beards (The Times, Jun 12, 1930).  Violet was an accomplished iris hybridiser and exhibitor.
