Pelargonium ‘Henry Jacoby’
Description:
Described at Hampton Court in 'The Gardeners Chronicle' (1880), as the centrepiece of the 'most startling bed in the garden'. The writer portrays the impact of its free blooming character, ‘No one who has not seen this planted upon a large scale could have any idea of its noble and striking appearance. The colour is deep crimson, the trusses are large and produced in great profusion.’ Noted in a RHS journal (1900) as being introduced circa 1870 by Pearson of Chilwell, Notts.
