Acacia acinacea
Synonym: Acacia obliqua Cunn. ex Benth.
Description:
Gold-dust Wattle. Can be found growing in open mallee scrub, heathland and eucalypt woodlands of south-eastern Australia. Quite often found growing in hilly regions on gravel and sand-based soils. This is a very variable species, phyllodes ranging in both size and shape, as well as variable indumentum. Masses of honey-scented typical wattle golden ball-like flowers in spring. Frost tolerant in its native habitat.
