Iris ‘Violet Classic’ (TB)


Description:

Introduced in 1976 by Lloyd Zurbrigg, Durham, NC, a pioneer in reblooming irises and founding member/first president of the Reblooming Iris Society. Known for cultivars like ‘Immortality’ and ‘Clarence’, he received the AIS Hybridizer Award in 1992. Tall bearded (84 cm), mid- to late-season flowering and known to rebloom/ Standards are medium violet, falls slightly deeper and ruffled, with a violet-blue beard. Hybrid of ‘Violet Supreme’ × ‘Jolly Goliath’.
