Synonym: Solidago canadensis var. scabra
Description:
A relatively uncommon species in UK cultivation, originating from eastern and central North America. It typically grows in open, sunny habitats including prairies, meadows, woodland margins, roadsides and disturbed ground. The plant forms upright clumps with tall stems topped by branching sprays of small yellow flowers in late summer and autumn. It is valued for its wildlife interest, particularly to pollinators.
