Rosa chinensis ‘Semperflorens’
Description:
Historic rose originating in China before 1658 and introduced to Britain by Gilbert Slater in 1789. Forming a compact, vigorous shrub with glossy foliage, it bears crimson semi-double to double flowers and is valued for its repeat flowering. Regarded as one of the ancestors of modern repeat-flowering garden roses, it had a profound influence on the development of modern rose breeding.
