Arisaema griffithii var. pradhanii
Description:
Native to the Himalayan region of Sikkim in north-eastern India, this rare variety grows among rhododendron forests and alpine vegetation at elevations of 2,400–3,900 metres. Named pradhanii in honour of the Sikkimese botanist and plant collector Ugyen Pradhan, it is regarded as the finest form of Arisaema griffithii. Its huge maroon-and-green hooded spathe, long trailing spadix and bold trifoliate leaf have made it one of the most sought-after cobra lilies in cultivation.
