Description:
Bred by Frederic Charles Yates, A. T. Yates & Son, The Poplars Nursery, Somerford, Cheshire, England, as part of his late-1990s compact Phygelius breeding programme. ‘Yapyel’ was subsequently introduced aunder the Trade Designation of Somerford Funfair Yellow. Characterised by a compact habit with strong basal branching, and yellow pendulous flowers. Plant Breeders Rights application was granted in 2005 and appear to have expired in 2025.
