Description:
Ruscus aculeatus var. angustifolius is a narrow-leaved form of evergreen butcher's broom, distinguished by its slender, spine-tipped cladodes. Small greenish-white flowers appear on the cladodes, followed by bright red berries. Usually dioecious, the andromonoecious form bears both male and hermaphrodite flowers on the same plant, allowing it to fruit without a separate female. It is shade-tolerant and valued for its unusual evergreen form and winter berries
