Astilbe ‘Walküre’ (× arendsii)

Synonym: Astilbe ‘Walküre’ x arendsii

Description:

An introduction from breeder Georg Arends, who crossed several East Asian species to create more vigorous garden plants. ‘Walküre’ is an early-flowering selection from this line, producing soft peach-pink plumes in early summer above compact clumps of divided dark green foliage. It reflects the Arends breeding goal of combining woodland species traits into reliable ornamentals for moist, shaded gardens.
