Streptocarpus saxorum compact
Description:
Derived from the species commonly known as false African violet, this compact trailing cultivar is native to Kenya and Tanzania. Typically reaching 20–50cm tall, it produces small, fleshy, velvety leaves along trailing stems and solitary pale mauve flowers with white throats, approximately 3cm across, during summer. Best suited to partial shade, it grows in moist but well-drained chalk, clay or sandy soils and is commonly cultivated as a houseplant or greenhouse specimen.
