Description:
Carmichaelia muritai is a rare small tree endemic to the coastal Kaikoura area of New Zealand's South Island and is assessed as Nationally Endangered on the New Zealand Threat Classification System as of 2023. This cultivar is thought to be named for Huia Gray Gilpin, former director of the Christchurch City Council’s Parks and Reserves. Listed by County Park Nursery as introduced by Graham Hutchins from NZ. First recorded in Plant Finder under Chordospartium in 1999.
