Salvia rosmarinus (Prostrata Group) ‘Gethsemane’ (Ro)
Description:
Low-growing, spreading evergreen rosemary with highly aromatic, dark green, linear leaves and pale undersides. It forms a vigorous, semi-trailing shrub, 25–40 cm high, spreading to around 1 m. Small, light violet-blue flowers appear in late spring and early summer, with occasional autumn flowering. The name evokes the Garden of Gethsemane at the foot of the Mount of Olives, East Jerusalem, though its origin is unconfirmed. Listed by CREA, Sanremo, Italy, which maintains a rosemary collection.
