Description:
Tall cane-type Begonia from early 19th-century cultivation, later treated as a synonym of Begonia stipularis. It has upright, weak angular stems up to ~60 cm or more, with bright green oval leaves that are paler beneath and sometimes marked. It produces clusters of small white to pink flowers on branching stalks for much of the year. Historical descriptions note variable, often taller forms with more strongly marked stems and foliage.
