Pelargonium cotyledonis (L.) L'Hér.
Description:
Endemic to Saint Helena in the South Atlantic. Found at 150–300 m altitude, it is now restricted to barren, exposed rocky cliffs on the south and south-west coast, receiving only 150–380 mm rainfall annually. The sole Pelargonium species on the island, it can survive months without soil or water. Its population is critically low due to habitat destruction caused by introduced goats, now largely eradicated.
