Arisaema kiushianum Makino
Description:
First published in 1918 by the Japanese botanist Tomitaro Makino, this species is endemic to Kyushu and western Honshu in Japan. It belongs to a distinctive group of East Asian cobra lilies characterised by divided leaves and dramatic, elongated spadix appendages. Growing from a tuber in temperate woodland habitats, it produces a striking hooded inflorescence and finely divided foliage, making it one of the most admired Japanese members of the genus.
