Agapanthus ‘Lucky Jim’
Description:
Introduced by National Collection Holder Steve Hickman, this selection was discovered by Jim Holmes half way up the Drakensberg in southern Africa, within the snow/frost zone, and is presumed hardier than most evergreens. Received by Steve via Jim's friend Peter Franklin. Agapanthus performs best in a sheltered position in full sun and a well-drained soil, also good in pots. Evergreen forms are considered less hardy and best protected from severe winter weather in cool frost-free place.
