Description:

Historic tall bearded iris collected by Sir Michael Foster near Amasia, Turkey, in 1885. Flowering early in the season, it bears pale blue standards and deep blue-purple falls with a bluish-white beard tipped orange. One of the most influential irises in horticultural history, it played a key role in the development of modern tetraploid tall bearded irises and received the Historic Iris Preservation Society Legacy Iris Award in 2022.
