Maxillaria variabilis dark form


Description:
Unusual dark form of Maxillaria variabilis Bateman ex Lindl. The species is described by Kew Plants of the World online as having a native range of Mexico to NW. Venezuela, and was first published in Edwards's Bot. Reg. 23: t. 1986 (1837). It is a pseudobulbous epiphyte, growing primarly in the wet tropical biome(s).
