Begonia (Skeezar Group) ‘Brown Lake’


Description:

A large rhizomatous begonia bred in 1946 by the renowned American begonia grower Rudolf ‘Rudy’ Ziesenhenne, in Santa Barbara, California, USA. Rudolf was known as “Mr Begonia” and described species in addition to creating many hybrids. The known parentage of this plant is Begonia dayi x liebmannii, though there is ongoing research into whether it is a first-generation primary cross (F1) or a second generation (F2) plant. It has smooth lobed leaves with a red underside and pink flowers.
