Symphyotrichum novae-angliae ‘Röter Stern’


Synonym: Aster novae-angliae ‘Röter Stern’

Description:

Introduced by Karl Foerster (1874-1970), and listed in his catalogue of 1949 as 'Roter Stern', eigenartiges Neu rot (Strange new red)'.  Foerster was renowned plant breeder and garden designer who established his nursery in Bornim in 1912 and raised over 370 new plants, many of which were to become part of his designs based on all year around interest and low maintenance.
