Ephedra equisetina RCB/TQ-K-1
Description:
Subshrub with unusual intense blue leafless stems of verticle habit to 65cm. Clusters of small yellow flowers in spring, plants are dioecious with seperate male and female plants. The female seed cone mature to red berries. the male plants produce small yellow pollen cones. This plant is derived from seed originally collected by Robert Brown in 2001 at Peterek Kalesi, south west of Yusufeli, in north eastern Turkey at an altitude of 800m.
