25th Anniversary Plant Fair at Helmingham Hall, Suffolk

Plant Heritage's Suffolk Group are celebrating the 25th Anniversary Year of their popular Autumn Plant Fair & Artisan Market at Helmingham Hall on Sunday 14th September 2025 10am-4pm. There will be activities and events for all the family and the chance to help raise funds for the charity's plant conservation work. 

Helmingham Hall provides a stunning backdrop for the fair, and entrance to the fair includes access to the Grade 1 listed gardens, with dramatic borders, knot and herb gardens, a 19th century parterre, walled kitchen garden and ancient deer park.

Highlights include: 

  • The Garden Zone – local National Plant Collection® holders and the Suffolk Plant Heritage propagation group will be selling rare and unusual plants, to help raise funds for the charity's plant conservation work. There will also be stalls of plants for sale from specialist, independent nurseries and a range of garden accessories including antique garden tools, modern sculpture and garden furniture  

  • Free Plants - 800 free plants will be given away, as giving a plant away is a great form of conservation

  • Garden Marquee – seven National Plant Collection holders will represent some of the best collections in Suffolk including Sarah Cook and her collection of stunning irises bred by Sir Cedric Morris at Benton End. Sarah won a gold medal at this year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025 

  • Conservation Zone – several garden societies, local and national charities will be on hand to offer specialist advice about maintaining plants, gardens and wildlife 

  • Artisan Market – a wide range of exhibitors will be selling a range of artisan handmade goods, food and drink. There will also be entertainment, live music and children’s activities.
