Membership Terms & Conditions

Thank you for joining Plant Heritage. We hope you will enjoy finding out about interesting plants, meeting new friends and supporting our plant conservation work

All members will receive:

  • The Directory of National Plant Collections, issued every year
  • Our Plant Heritage Journal, twice a year
  • Regular newsletters about our conservation work and events. You may also receive newsletters and journals from your local group, if they provide this.
  • National Collection Holders will receive additional information and support about this scheme.

As a member, you may choose to:

  • Join in our annual Plant Exchange, to offer or receive free rare and unusual plants.
  • Get involved in our flagship plant conservation schemes, as a National Plant Collection Holder or Plant Guardian (you have to be a member to take part, but it is not compulsory - your membership supports our conservation work).
  • Attend any of our local group events across the country (not just those in your local area). Many of these are free for members or have a discounted rate. If there is not an active local group in your area and you are interested in helping to set one up or becoming a local representative, please get in touch. Most events are publicised on our website. Some local groups also have their own websites.
  • Attend our national members' event, held at different locations every year. In recent years, it has included talks about plants and conservation, visits to gardens and the opportunity to meet other members. Please note that spaces are limited.
  • Volunteer with us in various ways, including through local groups and the central office. For more information on opportunities and current vacancies managed by the national office, please check the website or get in touch
  • Attend and vote at our national Annual General Meeting (AGM), normally held online in the spring. The board of trustees will present an update on the charity's activities over the past year, the draft accounts and other governance matters. Our most recent Annual Report and Accounts are also published on our website.
