The collection has now built up to nearly 260 species and hybrids ranging from 1ft to 7ft and from hardy to tropical epiphyte and is now one of the world’s largest Hedychium sp. Collections. Hedychium are sister genera to the edible Zingiber ginger but here are grown for their flowers, producing a large display of exotic colour and in some cases scent.
