Welcome to the Essex group pages
We are a small but enthusiastic group in a county with some 15 National Plant Collections - from shade loving perennials to heritage fruit trees. Read on to find out more.
We organise regular coffee mornings, at different venues to make it easier for more people to join us. It would be great to see you and talk about your favourite plants and your garden/patio/balcony/windowsill- wherever you like to grow (including houseplants). If you're looking for advice we can probably help too, as we have a good mix of knowledgeable people and beginners who come along. Get in touch to find out more.
We also organise plant fairs to encourage more people to grow and to keep rare and unusual varieties circulating, as well as to raise funds for our work as a charity. We welcome helpers - beforehand or on the day. You don't need to be an expert.
Many of us enjoy taking part in Plant Heritage's free annual Plant Exchange for members, several of us are Plant Guardians and we support local National Collection Holders too.
