Herefordshire Group AGM and visit to Hergest Croft Gardens

Herefordshire Group AGM and visit to Hergest Croft Gardens by kind invitation of Elizabeth Banks.

Please book by Monday 8th September.

This year’s AGM will be held at Hergest Croft Gardens in the Exhibition Room at 2pm. For those that would like a light lunch before the AGM we have arranged for homemade soup and a roll (£6.50 payable in advance by bank transfer) to be served at 1:30pm in the same room. Please let us know of any dietary requirements.

If you don’t want to enter the gardens, or have a season ticket, you can access the Exhibition Room without paying the garden entry fee. As always, we will try and keep the AGM business to a minimum so we can get out into the gardens as soon as possible. We are very lucky that Elizabeth Banks has agreed to take us on a short tour of the garden after the AGM.

Garden entry is payable on the day. Dogs on leads are welcome the gardens and the Exhibition Room.

The house and gardens were started in 1895 and have remained in the Banks family ever since. The gardens have been blessed by a series of guardians that were exceptional plant enthusiasts and the resulting collection is extraordinary and ever expanding. The gardens cover 70 acres. There are miles of paths to explore and 131 Champion Trees to spot. There are National Collections of Acers, Betulas and Zelkovas amidst the estimated 5000 specimens.

Directions The gardens are situated on Ridgebourne Road, Kington, HR5 3EG, and are signed from the A44. Free parking is available for visitors in the Hergest Croft Gardens car park, approx. 450 metres up Ridgebourne Road on the right-hand side. If you need to drop someone off, then continue past the car park and take the first turning on the left.
