Camley Street Natural Park & Aga Khan Centre Walk
To book: please email melwatson@me.com
Join the London Group on an outing to Camley Street Natural Park and Aga Khan Centre.
The Camley Street Natural Park is an urban nature reserve and visitor centre north of St. Pancras station on the edge of Regents Canal.( www.wildlondon.org.uk)
From there, we'll head to the Aga Khan Centre for a guided tour of their Islamic gardens (approx. 5pm and it'll last about an hour). See their website for more information on each of the gardens. (www.AgaKhanCentre.org.uk).
The areas around and behind St. Pancras station and Kings Cross have changed beyond all recognition over the last decade. Surrounding the restaurants, shops, and apartment blocks is excellent landscaping including the Gas Holders Park, Lewis Cubitt Park, and the Jellicoe Gardens which we will see as we walk between the 2 venues.
Numbers: unlimited for Camley Street Natural Park but only 10 persons for the Aga Khan Centre tour. If this outing is oversubscribed for the Aga Khan Centre, public tours are available via their website.
Meeting point: 3:15pm at the Camley Street Natural Park cafe
The entrance is on Camley Street at the junction of Somers Town bridge and St. Pancras Cruising Club. There is a cafe and toilets. See their website for further details.
Ticket: £10.00 - the money will be divided between both venues. Please bring cash with you on the day.
