Talks and Lunch at Marwood Hill Gardens

Two talks with lunch and a walk in the garden.

Caroline Stone her pre-WWI collection of Peonies and her developing collection of Peonies introduced by Kelways Nurseries.

Matthew Brewer, Head Gardener at Marwood, about his time at RHS Harlow Carr and the past two years of developments, including the four National Collections, at Marwood.

10:30am- Coffee

11:00am- Talk by Caroline Stone will talk about both her pre-WWI collection of Peonies and her developing collection of Peonies introduced by Kelways Nurseries of Langport near Taunton. Caroline has been searching for these ‘lost’ cultivars for several years and is now growing a fantastic collection at her garden in North Cornwall.  She gives brilliant talks and is in great demand throughout the country.

12:00am- A walk around the garden- The Magnolias and Camellias should be a glorious sight with several early Rhododendrons beginning to flower. Daffodils and Hellebores are massed around the gardens while the scree garden of alpines should have early species Tulips in bloom.

1:00pm- Lunch in the Tea Room. Meat or Vegetarian alternative (please state choice when booking) puddings and tea/coffee
